Safety Patrol
The Safety Patrol is a select group of Fifth Graders that are committed to providing a safe school environment for all students at Arturo L. Benavides Elementary. A Safety Patrol member should be responsible, respectful, cooperative, and helpful. They are the school’s role models.
Members of the Safety Patrol must maintain an 80 average
or above in all subject areas and NEVER be referred to the office
for disciplinary actions. Slipping grades and discipline referrals could result in dismissal from safety patrol.
Duties include:
- Hallway monitoring
- Assisting students as they exit cars during arrival time
- Helping students get to class or designated areas without running
- Assisting students/staff that need help carrying items into the building Working cooperatively with adults in assigned areas
Morning: Duties begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. and end at 7:40 a.m. daily as assigned.
Breakfast at 7:20-7:40 a.m.
Afternoon: Duties begin at 3:25 - 3:35p.m. daily as assigned.
- You must wear a vest while on duty
- Leave your backpack in the designated area
- Be sure all vests are placed back in designated area
- Please DO NOT switch assignments without permission AND ALWAYS stay at your assigned post
